127 paddlers and outdoor enthusiasts enjoyed great paddling films from around the world during NEWP’s annual presentation of the World Tour of the Paddling Film Festival. Held March 23, 2024, at Perry Hall on the Menasha campus of UW-Oshkosh, the festival offered something to excite not just kayakers, canoers, and stand-up paddlers, but also anglers, adventurers, world travelers and lovers of untamed rivers. The nine short films ranged from near-death encounters, to environmentally themed stories, to heroes of the paddling world.
In addition to the films, NEWP presented two awards during the evening. The NEWP Impact Award presented to David Horst, and the Paddle Ambassador Award to Dave Benton.
A big thank-you to our sponsors, Umingmaq Paddling Touring Center and Rutabaga Paddlesports. A portion of each ticket sold is used by NEWP to help advance paddle sports education and safety.
What an awesome evening! Can’t wait until next year’s event.
