Public Paddle Events
NEWP hosts several public paddle events each year on a variety of lakes and streams selected to offer a pleasant paddling experience in safe conditions. Some may include multi-day weekend outings with associated camping and social activities. These events are open to the public and intended for paddlers of all experience levels. Participants need to bring their own boats and paddling gear; a nominal fee is charged to cover event and insurance costs.
Check out our current list of Public Paddle events.
Club Paddle Events
Each year, NEWP hosts club paddle events that are reserved for NEWP club members. These are mostly multi-day paddle trips, often with kayak-camping and sometimes with daytrips from a base camp arrangement. As these trips generally involve traveling over open water on our Great Lakes, minimum requirements for training and gear must be met. Joining NEWP is easy and allows you take part in these paddle adventures and access club boats and gear.
Specific trips may change from year to year – here are links to our anticipated upcoming Club Paddle Events:
Rock Island Kayak Campout
Apostle Islands Trip(s)
Tour de Kayak West Green Bay Shoreline
Pictured Rocks National Seashore (info pending)
Door County Gathering at Peninsula State Park
NEWP hosts open pool sessions while classes are held at the Appleton YMCA in February and March. These sessions are available at no charge to current NEWP members and non-members who are current-year students. Nominal fee is charged per person for all others.
Family friendly, come and go as you can. Check our CLASSES page for details.
