On March 22, 2025, the historic Tarlton Theatre in Green Bay was the setting for an unforgettable evening as 80 paddlers and outdoor enthusiasts gathered for the annual World Tour of the Paddling Film Festival, hosted by NEWP.
This marked the first time NEWP’s film festival was hosted at The Tarlton Theatre, and many attendees took the opportunity to enjoy the theater’s dinner and drink offerings before and during the show.
The event showcased a diverse selection of films from around the globe, offering something for everyone – from kayakers and canoers to rafters, anglers, explorers, and those passionate about the wild, uncharted rivers of the world. The eight short films presented a range of thrilling paddling expeditions, environmental narratives, and inspiring stories about paddling heroes.
Alongside the films, NEWP recognized an exceptional individual and an organization with special awards. Scott Thomson was honored with the NEWP Impact Award, while Wausau Whitewater was inducted into the Wisconsin Paddlers Hall of Fame.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our generous sponsors, Umingmaq Paddling Touring Center, Rutabaga Paddlesports, and Scott’s Sports. A portion of each ticket sale directly supports NEWP’s ongoing efforts to promote paddle sports education and safety.
