- No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the paddle or during lunch stops.
BOAT RENTALS
Members of NEWP can arrange to borrow a boat by contacting a member of the Board. Several boat rental businesses operate in the region.
Due to the strong and dangerous currents that made the Fox River’s Appleton locks too threatening this year, we will be relocating our Locks Paddle to the Heart of the Valley in 2024. On Saturday, August 17, we will launch at 10 a.m. at Sunset Park in Kimberly. This route also takes us through four locks, including the two that form the combined lock. We also will pass under the new recreation bridge connecting Little Chute and Kaukauna trails.
Drop off your boat and gear at Sunset Park starting at 8:30 a.m. Have your driver (only) shuttle your vehicle to the takeout at Riverside Park in Kaukauna. We have reserved a bus to shuttle drivers back to the launch. Save time at the launch by filling out the American Canoe Association ADULT WAIVER FORM or CHILD WAIVER FORM in advance and have the correct amount of cash or a check to pay the event fee of $15 (under age 16 with an adult free), $10 for NEWP members.
