We have all the gear to paddle in cold water – BUT HAVE WE TESTED IT??
Bring your dry suit, wet suits, pogies, hoods or whatever gear you plan to paddle with when the air and water temps drop.
This is a fantastic opportunity to try out how long you are actually comfortable in your dry suit. Or to see how long you can still use your hands if you end up in the water. Or to find out how well that neoprene hood will protect you from brain-freeze while you roll!
Mike’s house provides an easy entry/exit to Lake Oconomowoc with the safety net of a warming hut, a bonfire (weather permitting) and access to a hot shower.
Additionally, we can all bring something to put on the grill and maybe a dish to pass and have a nice lunch together while we discuss our discoveries.
There will be short paddle route options available as well as a group discussion about cold weather paddling best practices led by one of our seasoned members.
No fee for registration. Open to all NEWP members. Limited to 20 participants.
