Northeast Wisconsin Paddlers (NEWP, Inc.) held its Annual Meeting on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the historic Tarlton Theatre in Green Bay. Members and guests gathered for an evening of community, reflection, and inspiration, highlighted by a powerful presentation from featured speaker Steve Baskis.
U.S. Army veteran and nationally recognized motivational speaker Steve Baskis delivered an unforgettable keynote address. A combat-wounded veteran who lost his eyesight in Iraq, Steve has gone on to achieve extraordinary feats: running marathons, climbing mountains, and navigating challenging whitewater, all as a blind adventurer.
With his signature blend of candor, humility, and courage, Steve shared his deeply personal story of service, sacrifice, and resilience. His message, rooted in perseverance and purpose, resonated strongly with the paddling community and all who strive to push beyond their perceived limits. NEWP was honored to host him for this special event.
The Annual Meeting also provided an opportunity to celebrate NEWP’s accomplishments over the past year, elect officers and board members for new two-year terms, connect with fellow paddlers, and look ahead to new adventures in 2026.
